Cabot, AR School Guide
More than an extension of the greater municipality of Lonoke County, the Cabot School District is an entity endowed with prestige and renown all its own. Cabot is, in fact, best known for its network of award-winning schools.
A s the largest employer in the region, Lonoke District Schools oversees educational programs for the cities of Cabot, Austin, and Ward. The communities of these diverse Arkansas homesteads have historically emphasized education as being of primary importance in their overall growth and development.
The first school in Cabot was opened by Professor G. W. Newton in 1875. This school employed just a handful of passionate educators in the early 20th Century until, following expansive growth; the district erected an impressive brick building to house operations. Since then, Cabot has continued to grow due in no small part to its illustrious educational network.
The local school district consists of a school board as well as nine elementary schools, two middle schools, two junior high schools, and one high school.
Cabot is also fortuitously located within fifty miles of four major universities as well as a handful of small colleges, community colleges, and technical schools.
